Happy 9th Anniversary!

Last Friday Matt and I left the children with some good church friends and took a trip to St. Louis where we were sealed in the temple 9 years ago on Saturday! We ate at the Cheesecake Factory Friday night and it was delicious! I had never had it before and we both loved it! We shared a piece of Chocolate Raspberry Cheesecake for dessert and it was wonderful. I mean, really really wonderful. We need to go back there sometime later and try it again...just to make sure it really was wonderful....

Saturday we took a trip to the temple and after that we ate at Fitz's Brewery and Grill. They bottle root beer and it was really good. We didn't try the enormous root beer floats, but we did have the never-ending mug of rootbeer (they kept refilling it for free!) They have a 1950's bottling plant there as well that is still running. They brew their own root beer and sell it around the area at grocery stores.

After that we took a trip to the St. Louis Arch and walked around there. It was pretty, and very tall! We didn't go up, though. I can't believe how expensive it is for a ride up in the elevator.

Overall, it was a nice, relaxing weekend and a fun trip away!

Summer Fun Pictures

Here is a picture of the Gordon boys and the Burk boys playing Mario Cart on our Illinois trip. They had a lot of fun playing the Wii!



The kids have a lot of friends back in Illinois (and I guess I do too...) and we were very glad to take a trip up to visit friends in July. We miss all of you! Look at all the fun we are missing here in Kansas.

This is Bret and Jared. They are second cousins and Bret just loved taking care of Jared during the 4th of July weekend. He never left Jared's side when we visited them in Iowa.


This is Kaylee and her second cousin Raina. Kaylee says Raina is her best friend. They played dress up the whole weekend and had a lot of fun!

Happy Birthday Jared! He turned 1 on June 9th. (obviously my pictures are in opposite order!


I'm not a big cake decorator, but I managed to make this 1 on the cake. :) I bet if I planned it more in advance I could get fancier!
