AHHHH!

Is it okay if I start freaking out yet? I feel like we're coming out of the tunnel and the end is coming, but so far I can't see it.

Baptism

So James was baptized today! We drove to the church and arrived 30 minutes early, but on the drive to the church we realized we had no towels and no change of underclothes for Matt or James, so Matt drove back to our house (a 15 min trip one way) to get them. He arrived 5 minutes late, but they waited for him to start! We will know not to do that for Jonah next year!

It was a really neat experience having our first one baptized and I was very proud of James and Matt. Both grandparents were there which was very special for James. He received a memory book about his baptism from one set of grandparents and the other set will be sending him his very own scriptures and a case. We were very grateful for these things being Matt and I could not buy James anything special right now.

It snowed and after we were home from the baptism the kids built a nice snowman!

Wow, what a big day!

New Paint

We decided since we have free time we needed to do something with it, so we painted the dining room area and moved around the furniture and also painted our bathroom. We borrowed the burgundy paint and the green is from Jared's room. I don't think I ever posted pictures of his room. I will have to do that sometime... We really like the way they turned out.

Happy Birthdays!

Too many candles!

We had a few birthdays in January! Jonah turned 7 and James turned 8! I also had a birthday, but once you get close to 30 you miraculously loose a year instead of gain a year! At least, that is what I tried to convince my children, but it didn't work. I am now officially 29! Yikes!!!! So, Happy Birthday to Us.

Merry Christmas!

These gingerbread men were so delicious! We made them before Christmas, so in case you were wondering, I'm playing catch-up now that I have fresh batteries in my camera!

We went home to Texas to visit my family for Christmas so I was able to finally visit some of my old friends I had growing up. This is a picture of Tiffany and TJ. It was so good to see them again! They knew each other as teenagers and married each other... :-)

My brother Travis is in the gray shirt. They're decorating sugar cookies!

This is my friend Lora. We've been friends since 3rd grade!!! I hadn't seen her in 8 years so it was good to catch up!
Here is the classic family photo when everyone gets together. I'm the only one married, so in this picture it is all my siblings and my family with Matt.

Merry Christmas! haha...:-)

Really Good Book!

So for all of you who haven't read this book, you should go to the library right now and pick it up! Yes, I know i am behind the times and a little late to be getting into this series, but I was afraid to read it when I read about what it was about. It seemed too gruesome and not at all the type of book I would usually read. But I was really wrong! Matt and I have read The Hunger Games and Catching Fire and I have to admit I am dying to read the next one when it comes out in August. How could a book have such an amazing cliff hanger? Check it out, you will love it!

Oh, and by the way, this book makes Twilight seem like a meaningless, rather dull story. I much prefer this series 10 times over! (and that is saying something!)
