Snowman, Why so Blue?

Here it is nearly April and the weather thinks it is the middle of winter. We have had icicles on the trees this morning and the freezing rain then turned to a lot of snow and in just a few hours we had a lot of snow on the ground! James and Jonah decided to go out and play in it.

Just look at those branches!
Here is a picture of them after the snowman they built.
Amazingly, their snowman turned blue and green! Who would have known it would do that? Maybe it was just too cold.
What a beautiful man! :)

Spring Break

We have one more day left of Spring Break (today) so I need to hit the park and do some fun things with the kids. It is a beautiful day today! My sister Tia came to visit last week. Here are some pictures of what we did this past week:

Me and Tia at the Kansas City Zoo

Dad and a mad Kaylee

Tia, Jonah, and James at the Zoo

The Christus in the LDS Visitor's center in Independence, MO

This is in Independence at the Visitor's Center. It was a really neat place.

Tia and the kids

Before we painted Kaylee's Room

After Tia and I painted Kaylee's room. It is pink in the day and purple at night. Kinda cool!

St. Patrick's Day! We are at a pond hunting frogs!

Oh, and Matt and I bought Twilight at Target on Saturday night. It was $17.99 at Target for their 3-disk Special Edition! I'm glad I bought it there because other places only had the 2 disk. Matt and I watched it last night and he liked it! I'm very excited. :)

Please enjoy the show filmed by Tia and starring Jared and the Bananas!

Need Maid Service?

Jonah ran downstairs a few days ago and stayed down there by himself for awhile. I had forgotten he was down there when he comes running up with a big grin on his face saying he cleaned up the whole basement by himself! What an amazing kid! He did such a good job Matt and I had to contain our laughter and praise him profusely after which I grabbed my camera!

By the time I got my camera Matt had already helped him put a few things away, so the sofa is not as crowded as what it was. After I got a good enough picture we explained to him that piling everything on top of the sofa was not as good of and idea as putting things away in the toy room. He said, "Oh." (he was still grinning, though). We had to give him a sticker on his chart for that! We are not sure what the chart is for, but if they clean up things they get a sticker. So far no one has asked what reward they are getting which is great for me because I have no idea yet! :)

Jared started crawling pretty much right after my last post. He's pretty cute doing it and he has managed to get around the house pretty fast when he wants to.

We have weeded our garden area!!! We had an enrichment class about gardening so I think I have a better idea about what I want to do. I'll have to take a picture of the garden later!
